John and Debbie Houchens

 John and Debbie joined the Sixty Feet team in September of 2014 moving to Uganda in April 2015. The proud parents of two adult boys, John and Debbie thought it was time to spread their wings and serve the Lord in a cross-cultural context. John’s previous 15 years international experience with Walk Thru the Bible and World Relief helped prepare him for his role of Executive Director. Debbie brings almost 30 years of critical care nursing experience and serves on the medical team.

Curtis and Jeneane Cosby
Curtis and Jeneane Cosby

Curtis and Jeneane arrived in Uganda in April 2016. Curtis is the Social Media Coordinator and Jeneane has helped with many administrative tasks for Sixty Feet. They heard about Sixty Feet through a friend several years ago. They have loved the mission of Sixty Feet and have had a heart for Africa for many years. They have a 2-year-old son.

Ray and Leslie Elsayed
Ray and Leslie Elsayed

Ray and Leslie have long been supporters of orphan care and Sixty Feet. They first traveled to Uganda in 2012 to adopt their daughter Gift and it was then that they got to see the work of Sixty Feet firsthand. Ray is Medical Director for Sixty Feet, overseeing all of the medical care provided by the organization. Ray is a Family Physician and Leslie is an RN. They have six children.

Michael and Amy Walters
Michael and Amy Walters

Michael and Amy will be moving to Uganda in January 2017. Michael, who is currently serving in the US Navy, will be taking a sabbatical to partner with Sixty Feet. Michael and Amy have felt called to missions work in Africa for many years and have a heart for children. They are excited to work with Sixty Feet to bring the hope of the Gospel and long term restoration. They have two children 1 and 3 years old.

Ava Weeks
Ava Weeks

Ava first learned about Sixty Feet through her church, Rivertree in Alabama. In October of 2013, her daughter and daughter-in-law went to Uganda with Sixty Feet on a short term mission trip. She has been an educator for over 40 years, serving 10 years as a missionary in the Pacific. Ava has a heart for children, particularly those who are underprivileged and have special needs, and is thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with Sixty Feet serving the children of Uganda.

Meredith Byrd
Meredith Byrd

Meredith heard of Sixty Feet through a friend and felt called to pursue an internship with them after graduating from college at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She began serving as the Child Development Coordinator in May 2016 and works directly with the children Sixty Feet sponsors in school. She loves visiting the children and reminding them that no matter their past, God has great plans for their lives.
