“Heal my heart and make it clean, open up my eyes to the things unseen. Show me how to love like You have loved me. Break my heart for what breaks Yours. Everything I am for your Kingdom’s cause, as I walk from earth into eternity.” (Hosanna by Hillsong)
As we sat and watched the videos of the children imprisoned in Uganda, we knew God had done just what we had asked Him to do; He had broken our hearts for what breaks His and we knew we had to respond.
After praying, talking and seeking counsel about what responding meant for us, we felt that God was calling us to move to Uganda in August to work with Sixty Feet. With this move, we ask ourselves, “Do you know what you’re getting into? Are you prepared to stare injustice in the face?”
We know that our lives are never going to be the same again, and honestly, we hope they never are. We don’t want to be content with the ways of this world. We want to act on the things we say we believe and really follow where Christ is leading.
Not only do we want to meet the physical needs of the children, we are looking forward to showing them the hope of the abundant life Christ desires to give each one of them. Even though many of them are orphans, we want them to know they have a Father who loves them dearly. Though we don’t know all that is in store for us over the next year, we’re ready to be used by God in whatever way He desires. We’re honored to be a small part of the story of redemption God is writing for these children.
We appreciate your prayers and support and look forward to walking on this journey with you.
